The once world-famous band t.A.Tu. has announced the reunion of the duo. One of the members, Julia Volkova, reported this on her social media page. The other member of the band, Lena Katina, also confirmed this statement. The Public News Service asked music critic Sergei Sosedov what to expect from the duo after so many years of silence.
According to Sosedov, there is absolutely no need to resurrect a project that has died.
“What is the point of it? The concept of t.A.T.u. was that two young girls sing non-standard songs and rock the youth. What kind of t.A.T.u. are they now? Excuse me, but the girls are approaching their fifties, what kind of repertoire can they have? I can’t even imagine what they will sing. All the songs from their youth will now sound vulgar coming from their lips,” Sosedov noted.
The critic emphasized that he absolutely does not support the idea of reviving the duet.
“There are projects that died and remained in the memory and hearts of people. In the 2000s, the girls were trendy, it was a different time. Back then they got into the right flow and were appropriate, but now they are not.”
He added that he refuses to listen to the songs that the renewed duet will release.
