An official document from the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property, which appears to be a Trademark and Service Mark Application, has surfaced regarding t.A.T.u.
According to the materials, the company “Neformat,” which owns the rights to the t.A.T.u. brand, filed an application to register the logo with the band’s name under International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS) classes 35 and 41, to allow the release of music and to hold concerts.
It is speculated that Ivan Shapovalov is registering the t.A.T.u. brand and logo so that Lena and Julia cannot use them, or use them with a percentage allocated to Ivan. This has not been confirmed.
