On July 19th, 2025 t.A.T.u. held a concert at the Mriya Resort in Yalta, Crimea. Leading up to this performance, many fans were excited to hear more news from the girls about their official reunion.

During the month of July, a verified X/Twitter account claiming to be t.A.T.u.’s official account (@tatuofficialRUS) began circulating statements about t.A.T.u. and its singers. This included a statement on behalf of Julia Volkova apologizing for the homophobic comments she made on a TV show in 2014 as well as announcing a world tour and new music from the band. The news was picked up by multiple news outlets, both in English and Russian, further generating hype about the questionable information released.

In response to this, both Julia and Lena posted statements on their official Instagram accounts.
